santos clarification

I had a look back after sharkbite posted below.

1. Santos sold their stake in MEO in lead up to Heron drill & subsequently sold their stake in Evans Shoal ? think they know a bit about the O&G game

Santos still own 40% of Evans shoal, so to say Santos sold out of Evans is not correct.(Deal not done yet)

Santos selling out of MEO is correct as proven by Mr No Nose.

The statement that Santos sold out of MEO in the lead up to Heron is not correct.

Snakeinasuit also remembers this and has said that they sold out over a few weeks concluding 9/11/07 and supports the theory that they sold out because they knew some thing.

This is only to give clarification. That is all.


The spud date for Heron 2 was 12 Oct 07. One month before Santos sold out 9 Nov 07.

If we take Snakeinasuit's time line and go back 2 weeks from 9 Nov 07 it puts us say 25 Oct.
At this point the drilling was at a depth of 3360m Right at the depth of the Dariwn fm (co2 gas reading)

To say they may have known something is an under statement.
Talk about insider trading.
What they did not stay around for was the 4182m results.
This is where the wet gas readings came from.

MEO told the market today that results from the drilling, log and core sample interpretation of the Darwin formation indicated that the entire 50m section(co2), over a depth of 3109-3159m, in facies C was saturated with wet gas.(bottom of hole)
