"......... must have created the universe." says Antony Flew.

And then says "My whole life has been guided by the principle of Plato's Socrates: Follow the evidence, wherever it leads."

SO where exactly is the evidence? We are given this ... "Yet biologists' investigation of DNA "has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce [life], that intelligence must have been involved," ". So some biologists look at all this complexity of the DNA, throw their hands up into the air, give up their assumption that all effects have material causes and start to espouse indeterminism.

It is strange how this person Antony Flew has evolved where we are made aware of this very fact bigtime. He is living proof that all our actions are evolutionary but doesn't this explain in some way the complexity of the DNA? Not for one minute with Mr Flew. Doesn't the DNA represent a coded description of ancient worlds in which ancestors lived? Isn't DNA the wisdom out of very ancient times, through countless generations, from millions of centuries ago? Why not think that the messages that have come down to us are the ones that have survived millions, in some cases hundreds of millions, of generations? Why not consider for a moment that for every successful message that has reached the present, countless failures have fallen away? Do we ever consider that this process is irreversible? Isn't it geological time, honing and whittling, carving and rejigging by selection and rejection, in a succession of environments, rather than some super external intelligence designing?

Whilst the "unbelievable complexity of the arrangements" can be easily explained it is "the evolution of that first reproducing organism" that is problematic. So in considering causality, where all effects have an infinite number of material causes, it is "neo-Darwinism," that explicitly claims that evolution is the process occurring at all times with respect to each electron, atom, cell, organ, organism, species, ecosystem, planet, and galaxy. To not apply "neo-Darwinism" is to accept exceptionalism that then states that certain aspects of existence are no longer influenced by evolution. i.e. Things are different now. This myth of exceptionalism is plainly implausible.
