You guys always do this.
Pick the cheapest bare bones version of the EV, and compare it to the top of the line petrol (in the Yaris case, hybrid which ads cost) version.
If you compare the Dolphin Premium to say a Mazda 2 GT (so the premium spec) it's a $12k difference.
So roughly an extra 40% cost premium over the Mazda, for not 40% more car.

But the Mazda is Japanese, so let's put that argument to bed, as you have suggested.

We should compare it to another Chinese manufacturer for an even MORE accurate comparison.
Let's use the MG3.

You can do the maths on that one. Maybe throw a non perfect world scenario in as well, such as only having on street parking for the Dolphin.
The running costs (and convenience) argument soon makes less sense too.

One could just as easily argue the opposite. Which I won't cause there's certainly merit to both. Horse for courses.

Look, I'm sure (hope) EVs will get cheaper. But they are nowhere near equivalency yet.
