ALK has been in a downtrend for years, and then, right before the price of gold broke out to ATHs, these clowns signed away what will probably end up being over $50 million in profit to Macquarie. Why didn't they hedge with options? Did it take a mistake of this magnitude to explore other ways to hedge? Did they even talk to any other financial institutions? Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. As a shareholder, I expect accountability for this – the culture within ALK management should not be such that mistakes of this magnitude can be made without consequences.
