I'll say it for you - Putin did not, indeed does not, want to "take Kiev" - further I'll say it loud and clear - Putin does not want Ukraine

I'll further inform you that Putin is indeed carrying out an SMO to protect his borders and his people. A simple layman could look at a map of the two armed forces and understand that the buffer zone has been pretty much static over the past couple of years. How can that be so? Putin could have destroyed Ukraine, Kiev, their bought government......many times over. He hasn't. How can that be? Go figure

So anyway - tell us more about your understanding that Putin wanted to take Kiev - I'm sure many observers on here will be keen to see you explain it......
