Yoda, I tend to agree with you. The political thread has become a forum for partisan shouting, not for rational debate.

However, you should be aware of unintended consequences. Originally, I suggested a specific political forum so that political comments could be segregated from the General thread. The General thread had become annoyingly cluttered with thetype of comments that many HC posters did not want to be bothered with.

If you remove the Political thread, then be prepared for a return of this kind of posting to the General thread.

Not sure what to suggest about that other than to remove the General thread as well but then, as lunchy points out, you lose what is undoubtedly the link between politics and the economy.
