Molten salt based reactors (MSRs) are still pretty much in the research stage. They built a couple in the 50s, but those are mothballed.
As far as I know there is only one MSR anywhere in the world right now in operation (in China). One of the Universities in the US might finish building one next year.
I like the promise of the technology, but it is nowhere near ready to go.
Has LNP "policy" migrated from SMRs, to conventional reactors, and now to MSRs?
