I wish it wasn't so ... but the recent March activity report seems to indicate they need to deliver 500-600K of hedging per year out to Jun 2027 at least ... every ounce of it WAY out of the money ...
That would represent around 33% of total production ... ?
It may partly explain the terrible share price action of late ... ?
Not a great strategy as it turns out ... ?
A bit of a shame since I can't see why they needed to do it, unless they expected a crash in the gold price ...
Also disappointing they didn't manage to make use of the share buy-back when the SP was $11 or so ...
