re: ihg goose or golden egg (you're insulting gees Unfortunately I have to agree with you on that point. IHG have had the Products for years. The customers loved the PIN Pads and things where humming up until 1998. Prior to that they had bought Prodata's EFT devision (ERG bought Prodata's Ticketing devision).

First mistake Intellect made was not firing the entire top echelon on directors and managers. They should have cut the treacherous, arrogant ungratefull sons of beeches off at the knees before they had time to undermine the Australian content of the European business. I could write pages on this sad sequence of events but most of it is not relevant now. What is relevant is that Intellect is still run out of Belgium (although I am interested in seeing what Pendulum plan to do) which means no matter what they do they can't fix the basic problem of being able to efficiently build and distribute their products. The whole way they do things in Brussels if flawed. Prior to Intellect Australia buying Prodata, Prodata was going bust and the three divisions where sold off to the highest bidder. So the history of NOT being able to do things properly goes back way before Intellect. Intellect just got sucked into buying them (a bit like Alien where they get sucked into bringing the Alien aboard the ship).

They have completely destroyed the market here in Australia to the point where "Intellect" is a dirty word. CML are tendering for replacement PIN Pads and I believe that Intellect is not even a long shot. How far things are from what they were. How can you fark up a relationship with a customer the size of CML where Intellect PIN Pads are being used in Coles, Myer, Target and Kmart (good products as well) to the point where they spit venum at you? If the new products are so good and have so much potential, then why aren't CML interested at any price?

Intellect Australia had an EMV compliant version of the the PIN Pad that CML currently use (that fits into the existing housing) completed 6 years ago. The advantage of using the same plastics is that it takes the same cables, fits into the same mounting brackets on the counter in the stores etc. The arrogant farks in Belgium where so hell bent of removing everything "Australian" from the market that they designed a PIN Pad basically the same as the one used by CML but with different plastics. They ignored requests from Autralia to incorporate features in the base of the case that would have allowed CML to fit the unit into their existing stands and to use the same types of connectors to allow cable compatibility?? Whatever happenned to "designing products that your customers want"?

    You have no idea....

Having said that, Each time they raise more money and try to reinvent themselves, they somehow manage to get the share price up at least temporarily. IHG is high risk. In my view there would be less risk punting on any of the Nickel exploration companies. At least you know what they are doing.
