    "all our eggs in one basket" worked fine in the past.... until there was competition from wholesale supply when it became obvious why our electricity had become so expensive (under the Libs)...

    now there is real competition and FFs don't stack up.

    I maintain that nuclear energy in Aus is inevitable. it will eventually be necessary, particularly as the technology is advancing and will result in lower energy production costs. even SMR costs will fall in future.

    we aren't compelled to make a decision right now (obviously) as renewable energy needs firming and expanding to be viable. in NSW we are coning to the crunch as Eraring is projected to close next year. NSW Lab govt is panicking and trying to negotiate a deal with Origin energy to keep Eraring working for another 5 years. its going to cost us dearly.

    I agree with you bastjose.... the big picture is always unable to be seen by myopic people.
