you wouldn’t use the stored power in batteries unless you had to, discharge and charge is what uses up their life- like miles in a truck

so, if you have wind spinning or coal burning etc- you’d only use the battery in systems for smoothing

if you’re seeing real umph in use - you’ve probably got a problem

same as a UPS for a computer- you don’t want to be seeing it discharging and recharging
