I agree it’s my (well my sons) experience. He owns a home and it’s modest. But it’s also tough. Recently their daughter needed surgery and it was reasonably urgent for long term health but not an emergency. That was tough for them and the demands on them because of their child’s need adds financial strain.
I just think it’s different for everyone depending upon on circumstances
you are right. Country living is most likely cheaper. But as I said sometimes the jobs suitable for a person don’t exist in the country.
