Love to see a thinktank dealing with all the different systems available at the moment getting back to the basics.
1. Security of supply.
2. Steady Voltage and Frequency of the system.
3.Adequate reserve to cover loss of largest Generators in the system.
4 Planning for future growth and replacement of elements in the system.

Maybe the system we have now is not the best option for our nation.
I believe micro systems in remote areas may be cheaper and better.

There have been many advances in Technology in many areas of Transmission, Generation, Electric Motors. Control Systems, Battery Storage and many other areas within Power Generation. Also there are likely to be a few more in the future.

This is an engineering problem and not the time to hand this over to Politicians or people without the Technical Knowledge.
