@Joannie - not so dim - i reckon - it is a commercial deal, that's all. Old guys get their egos stroked and young girls get to see the world and - maybe - get some moolah - if they were smart, they'd save and invest some of it. I once had the fortune to be 'picked up ' by an older guy, when I was 17 - on my first holiday ever in/near Opatija (old-fashioned name: Abbazia) - and he was happy with my company - I was pretty, giggled at his jokes and was grateful for every ice-cream and exotic meal etc. he bought me, above all he had a chauffeur-driven car and I got to see a lot more than if I had just stayed at the hotel for a fortnight. He was also respectful, but older - 42 years old - and still handsome. Alas, I married the first (and poor and young!) love of my life, who then departed aged 55 - still remember him every day.
So 'old guys' have their uses for a smart girl . . . it's a fact of life - everyone gets something from this deal and - haha, I am spoiling a young guy:
