The Russians run the organized crime rings in Thailand now. Where ever Western tourists are, they are.

One of my mates was born in Odessa under the Soviet Union. I asked him whether he was Russian or Ukraine, he said does not matter, we are all crazy.

I think there are two types of Russians, those who grew up under the Soviet system who seem to just want to live life, they party hard, have a good time and are pretty casual re money and spending it. Grow up in a system where a knock on the door could be the end and you learn to live whilst you can. Others became total hard asses, many did not grow up under the Soviet system and just want to take, no matter the cost.

Like all people good and bad but the majority want the same things most of us do, roof over the head, food on the table, cash to buy stuff, kids getting educated, law and order etc etc. Ukrainians no different. That is why its so bloody stupid.
