Correct - but you both made a fundamental mistake when you set up the problem - you solved for three unknowns (dog, cat and our poor exhausted little bunny) - hence you set up 3 equations and solved them in the usual way.
But the problem is not as complex as that and there is only 1 unknown (dog+cat+bunny) and only one equation is needed ie
(cat+bunny) + (dog+bunny) + (dog+cat) = 10 + 20 + 24
therefore
2(dog+cat+bunny) = 54
(dog+cat+bunny) = 27
I used to love setting problems like that in exams when I taught maths and physics at Brisbane Grammar (for 5 years a lifetime ago lol)
Mummy was not happy when Lil Johnny got the right answer, but did not assess the problem correctly and only got half marks.
-- Such a state of affairs in not uncommon in life in general and nowhere more so than on this specie stock market.
Just look at the price action on AW1O today - how can peeps be making such a mistake when assessing the problem ??
Just look at last years action, and this year will be very similar on the balance of probabilities.
