Throwing a shoe at a polly that you dislike sets a very dangerous precedent, and could, in the future, lead to an escalation as it only encourages those with a propensity for political madness. Maybe next time it might be a chair, or piece of wood, a stone etc etc.
The ABC should hold its head in shame for not taking the appropriate action to prevent an event such as this occurring. It's difficult to believe that it was a totally innocent party to this incident.
