This would insinuate they are shutting down the wind farms - they are not. The issue our grid is facing is night time base load power. Solar produces an incredible amount of power but when the sun stops shining our power becomes expensive at night due to the fossil fuel driven power stations which need to be ramped up to take the load. Renewables are the future but we are far from a perfect system. This is where the likes of IPG come in to play with further development and integration of power solutions for night time base load energy.
Coal power plants are being turned off, however. They are economically not competitive with wind and solar so only the very best performers are staying online whilst this night time power issue is slowly solved. Unfortunately this takes time.
