There's a bible quote about swine and pearls but I prefer this zen saying:
"If a thief would encounter a saint, he wouldn’t see past his pockets".
There's just too much distance. Valuable communication can only happen between people when their consciousness is opened to roughly the same degree. It probably sounds condescending to say that, but I don't know how else to say it. It's true.
For example, can you feel what's happening in this zen koan?
"As the roof was leaking, a zen Master told two monks to bring something to catch the water. One brought a tub, the other a basket. The first was severely reprimanded, the second highly praised".
If so, then we can communicate. If not, then it's just pointless argument, leading nowhere.
