I'm not sure a token, say $400m, share buyback would have any effect given the 21% short position. I feel the shorts would just absorb the approx 10% liquidity input.
I am also of the opinopinion that the shorts are selling to themselves (illegally) as well so maybe not the most unbiased umpire....
I think we holders are forced to wait until they have had their fill and hit their number to exit. nothing we can do and definitely nothing the ASX will do.
