I reinstalled my vista system on advice from HN tech guy on 19th October.

He said everything would be saved by buying external drive and copying C>users> and two folders containing all info under my name and public.

I followed instructions, saved files to external drive and got system restored.

Once restored i realised i'd lost everything in Windows Mail, drafts, sent items etc (no, he forgot to mention that info was not in folders).

Almost 2 weeks later, PC has crashed 3 or 4 times since reinstallation - less frequently but still crashing.

A new problem since reinstallation, my trade entries on excel have been very slow to save. Sometimes i click the save icon (excel not responding) and it can take over a minute to save.

I manually entered my trades yesterday (takes about half an hour each day), totalled everything up for the month, made sure the books were balanced, saved the file and also copied it to external drive.

I switch the PC on today to update CFD entries for the week, what do i find - all entries since vista reinstall have gone missing.

My documents and external hard drive are showing entries from 18th October and earlier, nothing i have saved since the reinstallation is there anymore.

Not a happy start to the weekend.
