Due to the new HC rules I will only make this one more post in this thread.
I am not a supporter of Hicks whom I think is deranged BUT
I also like to stick to facts not spin so...

Hicks only pleaded guilty as part of a plea bargain to get out of Gitmo so not a real admission of guilt.

I am not aware of any evidence that Howard intervened though he may have only because an election was approaching and there was growing community concern that Hicks had been imprisoned for five years without a trial.

IMO all our major newspapers print a lot of spin and few facts.

Don't know who you mean shares when you say there are Australians out their fighting to protect our freedom ? All I can think of is our troops in Afghanistan which I think is a waste of time and may possibly even be a threat to our freedoms due to their presence generating even more hatred towards us.
