No not confused. I did all this for many years. The initial sample would have been divided into parcels using a rotary divider. A portion (say a Qtr) for REE, A Qtr for whatever (maybe Mets) a half for reserve for such things as repeat analysis to verify anomalies or additional analysis as required. Kept in storage for many years.
