You don't need to buy a branded PC to have a good functioning PC. A decent computer shop should be able to build one for you; besides the operating system, you can decide what parts and software you want. It will work out cheaper that way too, and also the after sales service is better.
Except for my first PC, I have never bought a branded PC since.
