IMO US long term interests would be better served
by the US attending to its local, political, economic
& democratic ills at home rather than 'enforcing"
the "American Way" abroad by military means of
which its proxy war with Russia (this Ukraine war) is
an example.

The map below shows the USA falling short of Aus,
Canada and Western Europe when it comes to Democracy.

For those reasons the USA is more interested in maintaining/
retaining its global dominance rather than fighting wars/proxy wars
for the sale of democracy and this Ukraine War simply adds to that
litany since WW2.

So the bottom line here is "lead by example, not by force"
its the democratic thing to do.


By the way, the above map puts the Ukraine in the Turkey basket
which is far from being the epitome of democracy ...ie: more Autocratic than Democratic.
