The point of my post was to say that the US has been involved directly or indirectly (via proxy) in virtually all wars since WW2 in order to protect/ add to its perceived global hegemony without any consideration of how its foreign policy/overseas behaviour may impact the national security of others whether they be Great Powers (Nuke Armed) or not.
Other past empires did ditto , right, wrong or indifferent.
My big concern is not for either warring parties, but instead that an escalation brought about by US-French-UK donated missiles being permitting to attack mainland Russia . Just imagine if Russia had supplied Saddam Hussein at the early stage of the Iraq war with long range missiles capable of hitting US population centres? That, IMO, would have triggered WW3 replete with Nukes.
..And so it could very well be with this escalation of the Ukraine War. This is why there should be a ceasefire/negotiated settlement now to avert that risk .
