I don't normally respond to the Internationsl Socislist cult members that regularly post here but the frequent reference to Mearsheimer's opinions as justifiction for the Russian invasion of Ukraine should be put in perspective. His main line of argument is that Ukraine was about to join NATO and that Russia had no alternative. He also disregards the right of Ukraine to defend itself. No reputable political analyst offers the same opinion and Mearsheimer is utterly and totally wrong and as a consequence he has become despised by almost all of his peers. He is also on record as a Putin admirer and now makes a substantial amount of his income from Youtube videos condemning Western policies. You wonder how he went so far off the rails from his earlier views where he said that Ukraine should never have given up its nuclear weapons.

Sadly Mearsheimer is now nothing more the another one of Putins useful idiots
