Excuse me! why do you think Hybrids have just as much NdPr as EVs. The quantity of Perm magnets is directly related to Hp. Most hybrids have 100 to 160electric HP usually from a single motor all Tesla's have at least 300HP usually from multiple motors. The Quanty of ND tracks this power level. There are newer Perm magnets with stronger fields and better temp stability. some on this board because of the stronger field there is more Nd. This is not true there is less, the improvements are from adding other things. I have calculated the amount of ND and it is not worth talking about. The change is usually les than - 0.5%
For record a Perm magnet is Nd2Fe14B Find a periodic table and use some high school chemistry and you can calculate the Nd is 27% of total weight. It is not exactly 27% but for this discussion going beyond 2 significant places just makes no sense.Is anything definitive at Lynas? AL promised us NEXT volumes 7.2KT of NdPr in 2019 today the 4 Q average is still below original name plate of 6 KT. Go to the 2019 plan can you find any project that is even close to what Lynas said they would do? Mt weld is close but it took multiple tries to get there.
NC promised us 5 KT NdPr in 2012 not till AL took over did we reach that in 2019 we needed the NEXT improvements. JMO we will see many of these new entries (some will go bust) reach 75% of their claims much faster than Lynas did. I would be careful making fun of others to discount them. They may do far better at coming on line than Lynas did. All the following data is from Lynas Q reports if you want to proof it.
