    Nah.

Completely different situation. Most people in WA don't give a damn about the live sheep export trade, and quite happy for it to be shut down. They think, firstly, it means more meat and lower prices domestically, and secondly, they think the inhumane treatment of the animals on the export ships and overseas, is awful.

Same with uranium mining, it's not a even top 5 issue for 95% of voters in WA. Most people haven't even heard of it, or ever thought about it. Uranium mining is such a small insignificant slice of the electorate. But, there is a very powerful, and organised, political movement against it...the Greens! And Labour desperately needs their preference vote.

That is why I am not sure what political leverage/incentive there is to ever change Roger's mind on the ban. Economics might not be enough. Might all come down to the efforts of big players like the Minerals Council & the Chamber of Commerce.

One thing is for sure, Labour is very likely to win. And if they win WITH the ban in place, what incentive do they have to remove it after the election?
