It's pretty clear that Abbas denounces the rocket attacks because they are useless and will only provoke Israel. He wants the peace process to succeed which is a positive. He doesn't need to love the Israelis though to be in a position to negotiate anything.

That's a fair concession that is never reciprocated by Israel. When did you hear Sharon denounce their own attacks on Palestinians that occur on a daily basis as they steal, provoke and intimidate etc in the occupied territories? AND how long have they been doing this for and of course they are not the terrorists it's those pesky Palestinians.
