I'm not interested in the political side of this. the court trial seemed very well prosecuted, the judge directions to the jury sounded well balanced and the jury made their decisions, I presume, on the evidence as required.
I agree with you theres not much point discussing the politics, but the court trial was entirely separate from the politics. the real problem as I see it is the US system of politicians appointing judges according to the judge's politics. this leaves the judicial system open to corruption and the same problems associated with party politics.... fractious and disorderly, specious minutiae used instead of hard evidence and division among the whole US community. a polarisation of people.
this isn't good for the nation imo;
