I estimate russia are losing something very close to 300 tanks per month .....average of about 10 per day .

what's really happening is they have been digging into rather large reserves of old to very old tanks ....although I do think they are keeping back some of the newer ones in the hope of a big offensive .

it's not the tanks that are the big issue ....it's the artillery .....reserves are depleted badly and barrels worn such that accuracy is often up to **** .
One of the big problems for russia is the russian artillery is outranged by Ukraine by roughly 10km on average .
Ukraine has zeroed in on this weakness and prioritised counter battery fire to exacerbate that situation which of course due to the greater range they can do much more safely .
Amazing to me that when russ valued artillery so highly they couldn't design a gun with greater range .

As an aside ....tanks (on both sides) have been vulnerable in this war and are not the same value as might have been expected
Artillery has been huge for russia ....partly by virtue of what quantity of artillery they had at the beginning .....then because of the Ukrainian shelll shortage
but as russ artillery barrels wear and artillery units are destroyed that is changing now .

you cannot be unaware of the huge advantages russia had with artillery , planes , ships as missile platforms and the much greater proportion of population to draw troops from .
Yet Ukraine have hung on so well .....tells a story .....they want it much more than the russ do !
