I'm getting out of fossil fuels completely this year.

My old beautiful house in Germany was not suitable for participating in the electric revolution in a cost-effective way. I sold it at the age of 69 and am currently building a new house with a 14 kWp solar system and 15 kWp battery storage. Costs 29,000 euros - 47,000 AUD.

I'm also installing a heat pump that is essentially powered by my solar with underfloor heating that can cool in the summer by the flow of cold water but also heats up my bathing water and the water in the pool if I want.

I'm buying a nice electric car. At the moment, two-year-old electric cars are no more expensive than new petrol cars. I fill up 90 percent of the time at home. Where else would I go at the age of 69? I've seen everything. Except Australia. In about 3-4 years I want to visit the mine and production live on your great "little island". I hope David is still there then and does a good job.
My calculations, which took everything into account (I did not claim any subsidies from the state), have shown that the costs will have paid for themselves in 10 years. One reason for this is the feed-in tariff for the electricity that I do not need and can supply/sell to the public grid.
