at 1500-2000ppm... assume there is something like $50 worth of rare earth per tonne (I will just pick an arbitrary basket price) - this is just in the ore, before recovery losses etc,
A road train carries I dunno 70 tonnes? This is $3500 per load at current prices. The cost to transport from what I can find is around $3000 for a round trip of 500km (you might know more than me on this one)?
Then if you only recover 80% of the rare earth or whatever (no mets so no idea, but 80% is pretty good so I will be fair). You're already only break even. I haven't even factored in the cost of processing it or digging it up or admin/overheads or the other costs.
Am I way off here?
