Extraordinary chart really especially the speed of the change , no wonder some of the larger legacy auto makers , Oil companies and other detractors are bombarding social media with negative EV stories over the last 12 months in particular.

I listened to an interview with a taxi driver in England recently who uses a couple of early Tesla P90d's I think , now 8 years old , one had over 400,000 miles on it and the other around 390,000 miles ,still had the original batteries , original motors , had around 80% of its original range left and had never had a service for fluids, just tires and normal road worthness requirements...there are plenty that haven't been so fortunate but thats 8 year old technology so one would normally expect issues.

One thing that is changing rapidly is energy density, which basically means the same range with a smaller battery and that combined with increasing longevity and recycling will have some effect on Lithium requirements going forward but it's hard to project how that might play out.

Range is now not an issue for the majority of users, charging speeds are getting faster and now prices starting to get below the equivalent ICE vehicle , the revolution is likely to gather pace faster than many may think.

What seems appearant is there is enough Lithium to supply current demand, when that changes in our favour is the great unknown .

    Cheers Whisky
