well - I'll go with that they do - - if they don't, then, that is fine ---------- but, I can change MY behaviour to make it that IF they do suffer pain - and in this case from being dropped into boiling water --

if I can get the same result BUT without causing pain to the crab - then, I feel that it's my responsibility to do so

others may not feel they have any requirement for responsibility --------

one of the reasons why I dislike many humans

    • ''Crabs change their behavior in ways that suggest they are trying to avoid painful stimuli and learn from negative experiences

. For example, shocked crabs were more likely to leave their shells and switch shelters compared to unshocked crabs

. This behavioral change to prevent future injury is another proposed criterion for feeling pain.
    • Crabs and other crustaceans exhibit "pain guarding" behaviors like limping or rubbing affected areas after negative stimuli, similar to behaviors seen in vertebrates experiencing pain
      1
      .
    • When given analgesics like morphine, crustaceans stop exhibiting these pain-associated behaviors, suggesting the drugs are relieving a pain-like experience

      .
.In summary, behavioral and physiological evidence suggests crustaceans may experience pain
