You bring up Tigenix now Takeda and comments made around what was some very handy $$$ for MSB and what may have been some very handy revenue of around 10% of sales. Again we see the value of patents and if you believe them it was just for a additional layer of protection. Protection for them if by chance someone like CYP may come along with a like product and approach on there turf.

I will be kind and recognise the imperfections of the grading system. Lets say 40% of the above have a really bad mortality rate, 90%. The other 60% have a very good outcome, around 10 % mortality . Put together the overall mortality rate would work out to be 42% inline with what you would expect from water.

Trials by there nature can fail to show positive results. MSB have seen plenty. The odd miracle may not show up in the results yet have a profound impact on the investigating team. They would do anything to save a life including asking for companional use of the drug. Is it that CYP have not been asked (results just didn't show that miracle) or CYP too tight to even give up a few so called cheap cells to save a life ?
