    But the Teals don't vote differently, they confer, they reach majority consensus, I'm not sure what the difference is for you. They certainly aren't the LNP or ALP who are entrenched, but they still have to tow the bloc line or lose financial backing and the ability to call themselves a Teal. That's party pressure, even if it's not official.

    I don't think it's really possible to do away with our current structure. The electorate could probably kill off the LNP and ALP as they are, but they would eventually coalesce back into something similar, because big issues win federal elections and it's not easy to push a big issue as an independent and win.

    The only structure I can think of that would suit your purposes is something like China, where decisions about policy are taken away from the constituency and deposited with the Government to deliberate. Trying to get a true independent across the line is awfully difficult, and usually there's an anomalous reason they win (like Tony Windsor, etc).
