One other reason I've thought about is the question of how many investors (both retail and sophisticated) invested in the company with the plan to hold the shares all the way to production. How many planned to exit upon discovery announcement? I'm starting to suspect many did not plan to see this through to development. This very well could be the biggest reason for the share price being at where it is. I don't fault anyone for planning to leave post discovery because of how high risk the jurisdiction is. It was logical to assume that the share price would rise on discovery and new investors/shareholders would come in to see it through to production while those who speculated on the discovery exited. Since that didn't happen, we now potentially have a large shareholder base who never intended to be invested during field development.
