I read the whole paper and I have read plenty of others from the khazari theory, the Turkic theory and pretty much as many papers on dna studies as I have been able to access

and why - because I don’t happen to have a fixed view. Once the mass of jews left Israel - booted and hounded out because they were regarded as troublesome by the then rulers - they have covered a fair bit of ground.

You have of course neglected the Sephardi who made their way to the Iberian peninsula and when hounded from there to other parts of the world. Many of them then married ashkenazi. My own family is an example - I have clear Iberian peninsula Jewish dna markers. But my family saw themselves ashkenazi simply because the male had travelled from Europe to the Netherlands during one of the endless pogroms.

so does that make me a real Jew or not?
