''Don't live on a flood plain is the obvious answer to these natural cycles, These predictable cycles go back thousands of years.''
and human movement and prior hominids predates that - going into millions of years
hominids - including humans do one thing
simply - humans live near water. they explore by water, they settle near water and they do their biggest trading - by water
the 'obvious' answer as you say ------ might well 'be' obvious - like in rising sea levels
the 'obvious' is to move back from the coast
and there is the problem - in SLR - we have to shift large cities - back from the coast
for flooding - we have to move 'up the hill' to move 'up the hill' - we increase the risk of bushfires etc.
there is simply ----------- no easy answer
and that's only to do with water --------- not even considering ice and extreme cold in the north when the AMOC stalls
whichever way we look - we have a human movement disaster coming - on a massive scale
