IMO - NDIS is neither a Labor, nor a Liberal problem --------- NDIS rorting is an Australian problem

I had a conversation with the late ex Police Commissioner John Avery several years back and he told me that the high level policeman he brought out from the UK to advise him on how to clean up the NSW police force - told him that it didn't matter what he did, nothing would work if there was corruption in the system. Until you cleared that, you would be wasting your time on any other measures.

That thinking IMO, can be extended to Australia - to NIDIS, to endemic wage theft, to money laundering using Oz res. real estate, to insurance scamming, to devious methods by energy companies - to all kinds of issues -

the cause is ---------- Ozzies have a culture of dishonesty. It's ingrained, it's right through the culture and society -- it's a culture of opportunistic theft.

Only if we attack and change that culture, will we have a chance at making systems work in Oz.

If we look to some of the gutter level crimes and obscenities that are being done in NDIS - people ----- fellow Australians - wheeling disabled people who cannot care for themselves to ATMs and forcing them to withdraw funds and give the cash to the perpetrators

how low is that?

how low are the types that go about years back doing the shoddy roof cleaning, paint jobs and charging frail older people enormous sums for dud work??

what it all reflects is a deeply character flawed culture - and it is, IMO, impossible to build strong systems that can withstand such low level human character

we need a cultural change - or we're going nowhere
