Ranges of mountains suddenly reared up about 300 million years ago as well

the earth survived quite happily

do you think that a new mountain range rearing up suddenly where there are human populations could be a problem today??

my guess is that if your house was in the area - you 'might' have a few concerns

the earth would go on nicely - but, you may well be buried under several billion tons of rock

that's an interesting problem
