You will note that what is going to be replaced is:

* 350 Haul trucks

* 80 Excavators

* 80 Fast Chargers

* 70 Drills

* 120 Locomotives and tender cars

* 220 Other HME's

Ok, so refering back to my previous post re commercialisation of Fortescue's technology system to other heavy industry players how is E-Haul truck adoption fairing?

Now here's the question....

What potential revenue could this new heavy haul trucking system attract for Fortescue per client? Now this wouldn't just be a one off purchase and see you later either. The miners will require ongoing costs such as replacement of batteries per vehicle, maintenence costs, drivelines and retrofitting. The good news is that even with all these one offs and ongoing costs, the amount miners will potentially save will be enourmous compared to running their fleet on diesel fuel.Costs savings will be even greater for miners as the cost of batteries drop once scale hits. Take a look at the diagrams for the cost savings per truck!

And this article was just highlighting haul trucks. What about all the other equipment!

Fortescue are all over this.

In the meantime, the traders can have their days in the sun making a dollar or five from the drop here and there, but what I say to them is... watch this space.
