We should have been creaming off royalties from coal and iron ore, over and above state royalties, and saving to a sovereign wealth fund like the Norwegians did with oil, but no pollies with the brains to push for it. Sad. Even sadder is that much of this iron ore goes to steel production which goes to weapons and military build ups of planes, ships, subs etc for countries with opposing views to our own.
