That Upstream article was very interesting on a number of fronts. The majors are clearly all over the Orange Basin and surely must have been reaching out to PCL mgt also. Mopane indeed looks crazy, with it suggested that the 10 billion boe resource estimate applies only to the main AVO 1 reservoir. The AVO 2 and AVO 3 reservoirs are said to be “independent discoveries”. Furthermore, AVO 1 is believed to extend “far beyond” the Mopane 1X and 2X locations. Remember also, more drilling is planned within the block.
All bodes extremely well for us and could not ask for a better immediate neighbour. For me, this article reemphasises the potential of PEL 87 and exactly why we're here.
