Without a physical metals market, antimony investors must place their bets on antimony mining stocks.
Mandalay Resources (TSX:MND) operates the Costerfield gold and antimony mine in Australia, which it acquired in 2009. During Q1 2024, Mandalay produced 404 metric tons of antimony.
Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) "base case metrics have been based on an annual ore production of 250,000t producing 4,500t of
antimony and 25,000oz of gold in concentrate with average metal recoveries of 85 per cent for
antimony and 80 per cent for gold.” - this was back in 2013, and LRV are looking at improving yield and increasing production rates.
China has a near monopoly on Antimony. It supplies 80-90% of processed elements. In the Indo-Pacific region, this is driving Australia, Japan, South Korea and others to seek to diversify away from China—in the process defining a new resource-based geopolitics.
LRV is in a darn good position and will have to be on radar for whale investors over coming months...
