AU$1.25 on no news?, page-174

I sold Afterpay on its run up. Last chunk i sold at $50 and felt amazing having made 5x. That was at $50 and i missed out on it going to $150. If i thought it was expensive at $50, what was it at $100?

Talking about Bitcoin on this matter - people often look in retrospect and go "Wow if i'd bought 10 coins when it was $100 i'd be a millionaire now" but the truth is you'd have sold before it hit $1000 let alone $70k - the guys who made those millions did so because they believe in spite of all naysayers, and rationale, they held. That SAME rationale saw GME holders who bought at $20 go to $500, then back again.

Some companies run on to make absolute bank. Yes there will be a pullback one day, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, but being able to time it such that you sell at a price we go back to within a few months without the investment thesis changing is like picking the right number at roulette.

I sold not because i expect to buy back cheaper, though i'd love to. I can live with missing out on profits, but I can't live with a GME-like outcome, though im doubtful that'll happen here.

As an aside, Oleg's 15m worth of ZEPOs if he hits $200m in revenue now worth $21.75m (he loses roughly half to taxes) and having sold 10.456,038 shares between 29 Feb and 5 Mar he missed out on $7.97m in value - so if you're sad about where you sold, you're in good company.

Doubt he's crying about it though.
