Fundamental Economic Maxim:
If the supply curve for an economic good is forced to the left while the demand curve keeps moving to the right, the equilibrium price of that good rises.
The reason coal rockets to high prices because supply is unable to keep up with demand, and the reason supply hasn't kept with demand is because of the policies you and your ilk have supported which has curtailed supply.
