What precisely is the gamble with Biden given his carefully articulated policies and orthodox logic? Biden has passed more legislation than any President his US history that directly supports the people the are now backing Trump. Trump passed one piece of policy re tax cuts that benefited the top 1% only.
Trump is not a honourable person as you have noted and he is just a manifestation of the frustration being felt across all Western Democracy as certain groups are being left behind due to globalisation. He like Putin plays on insecurities and xenophobic like a malignant cancer, on damaged tissue.
They're (MAGA) are prone to false prophets and as a consequence buy into misdirection such fighting back against "liberal ideology", "Wokism" and "Institutional and Political elite (aka Swamp)". Trump offers no actual policy platform of any substance or has NO ability to reform but rather just create chaos via misinformation. Ironically MAGA will be the biggest loser under Trump than under Biden.
Trump getting back in is in fact an existential gamble on democracy.
